Welcome to the 2013-2014 School Year!

August 2013

Dear Families,

I would like to welcome you and your family to the 2013-2014 school year at Hillcrest Elementary School!  I am thrilled to be working with your student as their fifth grade Special Education Case Manager for the academic school year.  I look forward to supporting your student academically and to promote their independence.  I expect our students to do their best and set goals throughout the year.  Please encourage your student to read at least 20 minutes a night to support fluency, accuracy and phrasing.  If you have any questions with homework or classwork, my door is always open.
Please visit our Special Education Blog at http://hillcresmccoy.blogspot.com for resources for parents and teachers.  We will be utilizing technology within the classroom to ready our students for their future academic and professional careers such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Internet resources and more!  If you would like to meet with me I would be more than willing to talk with you further or answer any questions you have.  You can contact me at 240-236-3284 or send me email at Elizabeth.McCoy@fcps.org.  Thank you for your support and I look forward to a productive year!
                                                                                                 Sincerely,
 Elizabeth Mathews
